Scams Scams Scams that's all we seem to hear in the media these days, on the Internet on the television and radio. Until it happens to you people tend not to pay too much attention to them or don't know how to best protect themselves from computer related scams.
It appears that several of our customers have reported receiving calls from someone supposedly from their Internet service provider technical support, telling them that they have a computer virus and they are calling you to remove the virus. Please do not fall for this no matter how convincing this may seem, it's purely a scam to gain access to your computer. Broadband providers do not call any of their customers to offer free virus removal and certainly will not ask you to install software so that they can access your computer to be able to remove it.
Just remember if someone calls you to tell you that you have a virus on your computer, just hang up.
